Masihi Dajjal

bismi-llahi ar-ra?mani ar-ra?imi, In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. And I beg for forgiveness from Allah for whatever sin that I have done in the past and to show me the right path. Ameen.

Assalamualaikum / greetings readers. this post is regarding the Dajjal Al-Masihi.

As promised by Allah, the Day of Judgement will come one day. One of the BIG signs include the coming of Dajjal. Whatever information that I am sharing is based on what i have read and come across thus MY PERCEPTION. There are many views about the dajjal, but this is just my personal view of it. However, the dajjal wasnt described fully in the quran but only in the Hadeeth, sayings of Prophet Muhammad SAW. Thus, it means that we must ponder about what was being mentioned about the dajjal to us.

My Perception:

The dajjal is a man that will appear when The Hour is near. His appearance will be between Syria and Iraq. Described as blind in one eye and his eye will look like a floating grape. We muslims know that Allah is the perfect creator and he is not one eyed. There are contradictions in the Hadeeth regarding the blinded eye. Is it the left or the right. Well, when he comes to you, everything will be in a distorted form. Some will see the blindness of his left while others will see it on his right eye. And Allah knows best.

Anas b. Malik RAA reported that the Messenger of Allah SAW said: "Dajjal is blind of one eye and there is written between his eyes the word 'Kafr'. Then he spelled the word as K.F.R., which every Muslim would be able to read." those three letters make up the word KAFIR, a disbeliever in Islam.

Hudhaifa RAA reported that the Messenger of Allah SAW said: "Dajjal is blind of the left eye, with thick hair and there would be a garden and fire with him and his fire would be a garden and his garden would be fire." [Muslim] Let's focus on the GARDEN AND FIRE. if you were being asked by the dajjal which one you would choose, take the fire. for the dajjal creates the biggest fitnah / lie that no human can make. if you chooose the garden which resembles heaven, then have been successfully tricked and fallen into his fitnah. May Allah save us from his Fitnah. Ameen.

It is a very hairy creature, described to have very thick hair on his head / back. Some said that one of his eye would be very hairy as well.

It will roam THE ENTIRE EARTH in 40 days. the first day will be equivalent to a year, 2nd day equivalent to a month, 3rd day = a week and 4th day onwards = normal days. Everyone will come across the Dajjal, if he/she is alive at the moment. Rasulullah SAW was asked, "will one day's prayer suffice for the prayers of the day equal to one year?" and his answer was "No, you have to make an estimate of the time and observe prayers." for the first three days that i have mentioned, it is not normal 24 hr days. they are being counted as a day after you realise that you have been living as long as a year. Thus, you have to pray throughout the year and estimate the time of the prayers before observing it.

He will bring you the greatest fitnah, one of which includes a great life. What i mean is, he will bring drought to those who do not believe in him and bring joy (livestock, water, home) to those who believe him. BEWARE, for they are just illusions. He can also kill a person and bring him back alive.

For every bad, there is good. Meaning, Imam Mahdi. He will appear when the dajjal is already having his best time of life on Earth. some say its after that 40 days i mentioned earlier. May Allah forgive me if im wrong. The description of him includes:

1. Be from among the family of Prophet(SAW), among the descendants of Fatima(RA);
2. Have a broad forehead and pointed noise;
3. Appear in one night;
4. Appear just before the day of judgment;
5. Have same name as hazrat Muhammad(SAW);
6. Escape from Madina to Makkah where people will pledge allegiance to him;
7. Receive pledge and help of Iraqi people;
8. Fight in battles;
9. Rule over the Arabs for seven years according to Sunnah;
10. Spread justice and equity on earth;
11. Eradicate tyranny and oppression;
12. Lead a prayer in Mekkah which Jesus(pbuh) will follow in;
13. NOT be the same individual as the Promised Messiah (Jesus). Jesus will be granted permission by Allah to come down to earth once again.

after point 13, jesus / nabi Isa will come out of makkah where dajjal will be waiting. He cant enter, as there are angels guarding the gates of entrances to madinah and makkah. only hypocrites in there have escaped when they feel the ground tremble when the dajjal arrives. after defeating dajjal, the world will be at peace once more. Also known as the GOLDEN AGE. when it is so peaceful that even a fox wont kill a sheep when they come face to face with each other. even one cow's milking will be enough for a whole party.

Above is just my perception, there is another perception i would like to share, but this is based on understanding that the dajjal is not a man:

1. He will kill a person and bring him back to life. (it is
possible today using the technique of genetic engineering)
2. He will kill a person, cut him into many pieces, and will
stitch the pieces back together and will bring him back to life.
(cryogenics and genetic engineering have made it possible today)
3. He will have a garden and a fire with him. His garden will
actually be fire and his fire will be garden. (it means that he
would deceive the people about reality of things, what would be good
will be made to appear bad, and vice verse)
4. He will travel the entire world in one day. (concords, X-33
airplanes, and mach 15 planes enable a person to travel the entire
world in a few hours)
5. When he will speak, his voice will be heard all over the
world. (Television, radio and satellite have made it possible)
6. He will make barren land produce crops. (the desert of Dubai
is a green patch of land now because of new irrigation techniques
and genetically engineered seeds)
7. He will make the sky to rain. (artificial raining system)
8. He will bring dead people and animals back to life.
(possible using genetic engineering and cloning)
9. He will make dry cattle produce milk. (genetic engineering,
and new milking techniques have made it possible)
10. He will first attack the scholars of Islam. (scholars of
Islam propagate things supporting their own interests)
11. His last attack will be on the women. (women liberation that
has taken place, NGOs working for rights of women like those of men,
social engineering program of UNO have made women come above men and
have replaced the honor of women with freedom to do anything)

However, what led me to my perception was a story narrated when Rasulullah SAW was still alive back then. Please take time to read this because i feel it is important for us to know. ( totally lifted from http://mustaqeem.wordpress.com/2007/06/05/dajjal-is-alive-right-now/ )

Rasoolullah (SAW) once gathered the Muslims in the masjid and said: “I have kept you here because Tamim ad-Dari, a Christian man who has embraced Islam, told me something which agrees with what I have told you about the Dajjal. He told me that he had sailed in a ship with thirty men from Banu Lakham and Banu Judham. The waves tossed them about for a month, then they came near an island at sunset. They approached the island on the ship’s rafts, and landed. They were met by a beast that was so hairy that they could not tell its front from its back.
They said: ‘Woe to you! What are you?’
It said: ‘I am al-Jassasah.’ They said: ‘What is al-Jassasah?’
It said: ‘O people, go to this man in the monastery, for he is very eager to know about you.’
Tamim said that when it named a person to us we were afraid lest it be a devil. Tamim said, ‘We quickly went to the monastery. There we found a huge man with his hands tied up to his neck and with iron shackles between his legs up to the ankles.
We said: ‘Woe to you, who are you?’
It said: ‘You will soon know about me. Tell me who you are.’
We said: ‘We are people from Arabia. We sailed on a ship, but the waves have been tossing us about for a month, and they brought us to your island, where we met a beast which was so hairy that we could not tell its front from its back.
We said to it: ‘Woe to you what are you?’ She said: ‘I am al-Jassasah.’ We asked: ‘What is al-Jassasah?’ and it told us: ‘Go to this man in the monastery, for he is very eager to know about you.’ So we came to you quickly, fearing that it might be a devil.’
The man said: ‘Tell me about the date-palms of Beisan.’
We said: ‘What do you want to know about them’?’
He said: ‘I want to know whether these trees bear fruits or not.’
We said ‘Yes’.
He said: ‘Soon they will not bear fruits.’ Then he said: ‘Tell me about the lake of Tabariyah (in Palestine).’
We said: ‘What do you want to know about it?’
He said: ‘Is there water in it’?’
We said: ‘There is plenty of water in it.’
He said: ‘Soon it will become dry.’ Then he said: ‘Tell me about the spring of Zughar.’
We asked: ‘What do you want to know about it’?’
He asked: ‘Is there water in it, and does it irrigate the land’?’
We said: ‘Yes, there is plenty of water in it, and the people use it to irrigate the land.’
Then he said: ‘Tell me about the illiterate Prophet [Muhammad], what has he done?’
We said: ‘He has left Makkah and settled in Yathrib (later Madinah).’
He said: ‘Do the Arabs fight against him’?’
We said ‘Yes’.
He said: ‘How does he deal with them?’
So we told him that Rasoolullah (SAW) had overcome the Arabs around him and that they had followed him.
He asked: ‘Has it really happened?’
We said yes.
He said: ‘It is better for them that they follow him. Now I will tell you about myself. I am the Dajjal. I will soon be permitted to leave this place: I will emerge and travel about the Earth. In forty nights, I will pass through every town, except Makkah and Madinah, for these have been forbidden to me. Every time I try to enter either of them, I will be met by an angel bearing an unsheathed sword, who will prevent me from entering. There will be angels guarding them at every passage leading to them.’”

Of course, Allah has given us protection in the form of DUA'A. Dua'a is like a shield. you can choose to wear it or not. but if you dont, most likely you will not be safe. some DUA'As against DAJJAL include:

- Reciting and memorizing the 10 opening and closing ayahs / ayats of Surah Al-Kahf. Note: this is not the same as surah al-kaafirun.

- Allah's Apostle (Rasulullah SAW) used to invoke Allah in the prayer saying:

"Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min adhabil-qabri, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-masihid-dajjal, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-mahya wa fitnatil-mamati. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-ma thami wal-maghrami. (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the punishment of the grave and from the afflictions of Masiah Ad-Dajjal and from the afflictions of life and death. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the sins and from being in debt).

" Somebody said to him, "Why do you so frequently seek refuge with Allah from being in debt?" The Prophet replied, "A person in debt tells lies whenever he speaks, and breaks promises whenever he makes (them)." 'Aisha also narrated: I heard Allah's Apostle in his prayer seeking refuge with Allah from the afflictions of Ad-Dajjal. (Bukhari) lifted directly from http://etori.tripod.com/dajjalsystem/protection.html

I have come to the end of my post. i hope this is a useful one. May Allah forgive my sins if i had said something not right in this post for all human makes mistakes. let us all seek help from Allah SWT if we were to be alive when the Dajjal is around. And be amongst the true believers who will be put in Al-Jannah insyaAllah. Ameen.
