I begin by praising Allah and ask for His forgiveness and I take refuge with Allah from the evil of ourselves and the accursed Satan. Whom so ever Allah guides, there is none to misguide and who so ever Allah leaves to go astray, there is none to guide.

A sister from the tagboard has requested for a post about the hadith. Alhamdulillah, here’s the 1st part of the post which is just the introduction to the systematic body of a hadith. Please take note that these are not my works. Most of it are the works of the respected scholars of Islam whom I borrowed their materials from. May Allah bless them all ameen.
INTRODUCTION
The Muslims agree that the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the second of the two revealed fundamental sources of Islam, after the Glorious Qur'an. The authentic Sunnah is contained within the vast body of Hadith literature.
A hadith is composed of 3 parts:
[1] Matn (text)
[2] Isnad (chain of reporters)
[3] Taraf (the part, or the beginning sentence, of the text which refers to the sayings/actions/characteristics of the Prophet)
A text (matn) may seem to be sufficient and reasonable but it also needs an authentic isnad with reliable reporters for any hadith to be acceptable.
'Abdullah b. al-Mubarak (d. 181 AH), one of the renowned teachers of Imam al-Bukhari, said, "The isnad is part of the religion: had it not been for the isnad, whoever wished to would have said whatever he liked."
The need for the verification of each isnad arose also because there was a deliberate fabrication of the hadith by various sects which appeared amongst the Muslims, in order to support their views.
As time passed, more reporters were involved in each isnad, and so the situation demanded strict discipline in the acceptance of the hadith; the rules regulating this discipline are known as Mustalah al-Hadith (the Classification of Hadith) which will be discussed in the sequel of this post insyaAllah.
I begin by praising Allah and ask for His forgiveness and I take refuge with Allah from the evil of ourselves and the accursed Satan. Whom so ever Allah guides, there is none to misguide and who so ever Allah leaves to go astray, there is none to guide.

If there's any error, I'm open for rectification. None is perfect as perfection only belongs to Allah (God Almighty). All good things come from Allah and all the bad things are from my side and the side of Satan the accursed.
