Bismi-llahi ar-ra?mani ar-ra?imi, In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. And I beg for forgiveness from Allah for whatever sin that I have done in the past and to show me the right path. Ameen.
Assalamualaikum / Greetings dear readers. This post is about prayers in Islam.
We received our orders to pray to Allah SWT on the night of Israa' Mi'raaj, when Rasulullah SAW penetrated through the seven heavens and Sidratul Muntahaa to receive those orders. Doesn't this makes us reflect on how much Rasulullah SAW did for us to get the orders? And the amount of rakaats for each prayer was originally X 10. So if we miss out on prayers, we can actually feel that huge burden to repay the prayers as we are actually paying back X 10 of what we are supposed to do.
Praying 5 times a day is obligatory. It makes up one of the 5 pillars of Islam.
We are very lucky to be given the opportunity to pray. If we were to ask the trees and other living creatures around us, they are very AFRAID to do prayers. Not because they disobey Allah SWT, but they don't dare to FACE ALLAH SWT in the prayers. Such amount of fear they have in Allah SWT. But what about us human beings who are much smaller than the mountains and trees? We dare to move around, scratch our body or be not in the cleanest of clothes when we are actually standing in front of Allah SWT who is the Al-Mighty. We must make an effort to increase our concentration and khusoo' to Allah SWT when praying insyaAllah we will.
Rasulullah SAW used to mention to us NEVER MISS PRAYERS. Gathering the benefits that I have read up so far, it is really our loss if we miss our prayers. Also it goes to show that Islam is really the true way of life.
When we take ablution (wudhu), we empty our hearts and concentrate on the prayers that we will be carrying out soon. 5 times a day everyday, Allah SWT reminds us that we MUST remember him. Maybe what we have done brings us away from Allah SWT, so the 5 prayers are like sticky notes saying "Hey brother/sister, are you forgetting who you come from?"
we refresh ourselves from fatigue. And we clean ourselves. If we do ablution properly, all our sins have already been forgiven. Really that simple.
When we pray, we are proving that Islam is the way for uniting everyone. Because everyone in Islam must do it and there's a sense of unity and bonding. Eg, during exams we study at home. When we feel like giving up, we know there are friends of us who carry on and it gives us inspiration to carry on as well. Same concept.
When we sujud, all our organs will return to its original position. Also, shaiytan will hate us. Because that was the reason why they were thrown out of Heaven and cursed as they disagreed to sujud (prostrate) to Prophet Adam AS. They will cry and run away from us when we SUJUD to Allah SWT.
When we say the Shahadah after sujud (ašhadu 'al-lā ilāha illā-llāhu wa 'ašhadu 'anna muħammadan rasūlu-llāh), we "renew" our contract in Islam. When our index finger points up straight, the shaiytan will feel as if they were being shot by an arrow.
Lastly, we give salaam to our two angels who are always by our sides, Kiraman Katibin. This is a symbol of respect to them.
Don't rush off after prayers for there is more to it. Immediately after prayers, recite Ayatul Kursi. The signifance is great, that is Allah promises us that nothing will stand between us and Heaven except Death. That's some of the powerful advantages of Ayatul Kursi.
If we are really khusoo in Solaat, we will find that we have left ourseleves from the world and into intense worshipping to Allah. This will clear our mind and ease our soul really. We will become refrehsed after solaat. It gives us the perfect exercise if we carry out slowly (our bones flexes). AND, if done at our very best, all our sins are washed away. Seriously, isn't Islam the greatest gift of all?
On the parts i mentioned that our sins are washed away totally, it seems to be too good and easy to be true right? Indeed it is true. If someone promises you something, wouldn't you trust him/her? What if that someone is now Allah SWT who doesn't back up on His words? He is the One who blows in a soul and flesh into an egg and sperm. Which of His orders will we dare deny then?
Here i end my sharing session, insyaAllah i will share more information after research and findings. May Allah SWT bless us all, Ameen.
If there's any error, I'm open for rectification. None is perfect as perfection only belongs to Allah (God Almighty). All good things come from Allah and all the bad things are from my side and the side of Shaiytan the accursed.
