Qur'an

Bismi-llahi ar-ra?mani ar-ra?imi, In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. And I beg for forgiveness from Allah for whatever sin that I have done in the past and to show me the right path. Ameen.

Assalamualaikum / Greetings to all readers. I would like to present an entry regarding something related to the Qur'an.

To start off, it is the greatest miracle of Islam. Think about this. How can a once illiterate man (Rasulullah SAW) who could neither read nor write, come up with the GREATEST form of literature which has no contradictions in it? Surely, it is not Prophet Muhammad's SAW words, but words from ALLAH SWT. Even if all man and jinn combined efforts, we cannot come up with something like it, not even a verse.

It is a book of revelation and its first verse was the first sentence of surah Al-'Alaq, sent down on the night of Lailatul Qadr by Allah SWT, through Jibreel, to Rasulullah SAW.

Notice the first word, which is IQRA', meaning READ. let's just zoom in on only one word out of one surah out of 114 surahs.

Reading is a hobby that many people take up. Coz it leads us to many of our interests. Example, a man reads a book about insects because he likes stuffs related to insects. therefore, he reads up to more about insects and LEARN more about them. gain knowledge about it. or another example will be a just married man reading up on the book of guidance to setting up a perfect family etc.

In the same context, that is what Qur'an is for. Qur'an is the encyclopedia of EVERYTHING. It contains the news of yesterday, today and tomorrow. It gives you perfect guidance and protection (eg Ayatul Kursi and last few verses of surah Al-Hashr can be used to ward off jinns and Shaitan). It is also a book of great knowledge. So much knowledge that it has been described as a NEVER ENDING ocean of knowledge.

It is good if we know how to recite the qur'an in arabic text. For those who have yet to read up the 114 surahs, do not give up in getting sufficient knowledge to read it. this also goes to myself, for i may not have attained enough knowledge to read the Qur'an with no mistakes.

However, just reading it is not enough. Qur'an is the highest form of literature on Earth. Even the highest scholars on Earth can't come up with something NEAR TO IT. With this, it will take mankind alot of time on Earth to try and unlock the meanings behind every verse. The Qur'an holds a lot of secrets that only Allah SWT knows of. What we can do is to understand what the Qur'an's message is.

It contains some signs, which are warnings to human beings about the Day of Judgement, especially for me at least. How much chaos will be caused on that day. From Surah 'Abasa, verse 34 - 36 onwards. "That DAY when a man will flee from his BROTHERS, MOTHER, FATHER, HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN" can you imagine this on that day itself? running away from everyone, because you will only need to care for yourself on the day that mankind is NO MORE.

Another fact i found from http://miracles-of-allah.blogspot.com/:

…And We sent down iron in which there lies great force and which has many uses for mankind.... (Quran - Surat al-Hadid : 25)

from scientist's research, they found out that Iron was first stumbled upon on earth as a METEORITE FROM OUTSIDE EARTH. look at the word SENT DOWN in the verse. enough said by Allah's words itself.

On and all, we need to understand what the Qur'an is saying. meaning, no use reciting without understanding. this is something i myself have to wake up to because i was unaware of this. but it does make sense. if you read something and you don't understand, wouldn't it be as good as not reading it if you make an effort to learn what it means or seek help?

anw, a good practice will be to learn the meanings of surahs that we have already memorized. so that when we read, there's "more meaning" to it. also, it can be good practice if we take up a random verse and its meaning and keep it with us. when we are anywhere, we can ponder about the meaning of it and learn to appreciate the Qur'an more. This applies to me as well. May Allah SWT bless us, ameen.

If there's any error, I'm open for rectification. None is perfect as perfection only belongs to Allah (God Almighty). All good things come from Allah and all the bad things are from my side and the side of Satan the accursed.
